During the talk shows, many callers called in to express their grievances, calling for unity, putting the gun down, keeping the country together, and creating employment opportunities for the youth. A caller who identified her name as Nyoka said “we have to accept our country and declare that we know our problems and we can are the right people to address them -and also take employment by merit not because he/she is from my tribe or the foreigners these some of the issues that created the conflict in the country”.
CEFoRd in its relentless pursuit of peace has anchored its strategy on civil engagement as a conflict mitigation tool. This engagement with yei citizen marks the third outcome after the Western Equatoria Chiefs forum held in Maridi, Mundri and Yambio and the Kajo Keji peace forum which drew key players from the Kajo Keji commmunity, government and UNMISS.
